Document 130 - Amendment to the Act on the Acquisition of Qualifications to Practise Healthcare Professions – RJ
Published date: 11.03.2026 |Processed date: 11.03.2026 |Session 10
Summary
The bill amends the Act on Specialization Training of Healthcare Professionals and reintroduces the field of trauma surgery as a separate basic specialization field for physicians with a minimum length of training of 5 years. The aim is to increase the number of specialists and to stabilize the functioning of trauma centres, as the interest in this specialty dropped significantly after the abolition of the specialty in 2017. The law also provides transitional rules for accredited facilities and allows for the continuation of training under existing accreditations. Doctors specializing in trauma will now be considered specialists in trauma surgery.
